The Waco Cultural Arts Fest is an annual event, normally held the last
weekend of September each year. The 2007 festival takes
place on September 29th and 30th. Gates
are open on Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight and Sunday
from noon to 7 p.m. Volunteers are needed throughout the
event and with
site set-up on Thursday and Friday and clean-up on
Sunday evening and Monday morning.
How do I volunteer?
Download and complete the volunteer form. If you decide to volunteer
at the last minute, come to the information/volunteer desk. We’ll be looking for you.
Why does the Arts Fest need
volunteers?
With thousands of attendees at the festival,
there is always something that needs to be done. Volunteers
can work at the beverage trailers, assist with art
activities, provide hospitality to artists who display their
goods, or sell t-shirts or artists’ recordings. There is a
place for willing participants who want to give back to
their community. And the hours contributed to the festival
by volunteers allow the festival to continue to be open to
the public without charge.
Who can be a volunteer?
Anyone who is willing to share a few hours with
the community can be a volunteer. Student, doctor or nurse,
teacher, engineer, parent – anyone can help children and
adults enjoy and appreciate the rich variety of art
activities, music and artists’ displays.
Why should I be a volunteer?
You should be a volunteer because you want to see
the sparkle in the eyes of a child who had created something
unique, because you appreciate the diversity of art and
music in our area, and because you know you will be enriched
for having volunteered.
What are the benefits of being a
volunteer?
Sorry, we can’t pay you money to be a volunteer,
but we can give you the opportunity to meet interesting
people, to help a student express creativity and to
contribute to the well-being of the arts in Central Texas. |
